‘DRAW!’ is a rejected entry to the 2020 Dobell Drawing Prize
Through ‘Draw!’, Skelton&Conway parody the tropes and tools of traditional observational drawing by commandeering the structure of a classic Western ‘shoot-out’ scene. Consequently, the pair create a humorous and absurd spectacle that explores the correlation between familiar, domestic mark-making and long-standing drawing methods. In this video, Skelton&Conway produce drawings with atypical materials, tomato sauce and cheese on white bread, illuminating the diversity, accessibility and breadth of drawing.
